MSEDBLOG: Keep an eye on these crazy education bills

12026668_10207696034495715_258832376_n2016 continues to be a big year for education in the Mississippi Legislature. Consequently, several bills have been introduced in the House and Senate affecting education.

Of course, the Legislature is expected to advance school choice and rewrite MAEP, but other, more obscure- and frankly- bizarre bills have also been introduced. These bills include measures to require schools to rate parents, to mandate uniforms, spelling bees, and piles of homework every night, and to revoke the licenses of administrators who can’t fix their schools in three years’ time.

Few of these bills are expected to make it out of committee, but here are the links to each chamber’s bill status page, so that the public can stay informed:
